Jodie & Rambo

We got Rambo and Jodie when they were about four weeks old. They were both quite friendly and curious and very much enjoyed being held and snuggled, and after a few days we decided to let them out into the house to mingle with our other cats.

As our cats slowly became acclimated to the new interlopers, we started letting Jodie and Rambo out in the morning and letting them stay out until bedtime, which is when we'd put them in their room - a room full of comfy places to sleep, plenty of food and water, and more toys than you could shake a stick at - for the night.

They didn't care for being closed up in a room at night, but they adapted pretty well.

Jodie and Rambo aren't actually from the same litter, but they're very attached to each other.

Jodie is a very sweet, loving kitty (do I sound like I'm writing a personal ad, or what?), who purrs so loudly you can hear her in the next room. She's a vigorous licker - if she sees you when she first wakes up, you're in for it, 'cause she will happily lick you until your skin is raw, and then she'll just keep licking you. She's a sweet little cat with a great big heart and loves to be scratched on the top of her head. She has great big paws, and I suspect she's going to be a big cat. She might be part Maine Coon cat.

Rambo is not quite as snuggly as his sister unless he's just woken up, then he wants to be held like a baby. Both kittens are pretty smart, but I think Rambo's the smarter one - there's this toy we have that is basically a stick with feathers on the end of it. If I hold the toy in the air, Jodie will jump up and bat at it, but Rambo will assess the situation, then start climbing up my leg. If left to do what he wants, he'll climb the entire length of my body (ouch!), then crawl out along my arm and grab at the toy that way. He also has a habit of "nursing" on wool. Most of the cat beds we have in the house are made of wool, and he loves to nurse on them. I suspect, given his features and his propensity for sucking on wool (a Siamese trait), that he's part Siamese. He's a crazy little playful guy, and when he and Jodie get into it, it sounds like there are elephants running around in the house.

Jodie and Rambo were with us for about eight weeks, and we truly enjoyed having them live with us, and watching them grow. They were awfully sweet, and they'll make some family very happy.

They were put up for adoption on September 14th, and were adopted together on September 17th.
